I didn't think that in my lifetime that we were going to be getting an Oblivion Remaster. I played the original game like crazy and racked up close to 1K plus hours. I loved that game and over the years, I've grown so nostalgic over it--especially with the music. So a remaster? In 2025. Yeah, this is a rumor for some time now, and I didn't pay it much mind until we got solid information, and it's a shadow drop. So let me just highlight a fraction of the info given to us.
Check out Jake Baldino's video about the Oblivion Remastered for better info than what I have. He's part of the GamerRanx crew, a good place for video game news, for sure, and Jake's always got some neutral and insightful things to say!

A leak happened regarding Oblivion Remaster just a few days ago. Luckily, the internet does what it does, so here we have some comparison. Graphics have come a long way though--but I do agree with a lot of the complaints: the colors look too dulled out and lacking that fantastical bright look that Oblivion was known for. I do wish that if this is already on its way that there will be an option to tweak the lighting back to the original ambiance.

I'm hearing a few things about how they are going to change the gameplay a bit, tweaking it out so it's a bit more contemporary. I'm all for it since the fun factor for the gameplay wasn't exactly Oblivion's strongest asset; then again, neither was Skyrim's. I will say that the graphics look amazing.

Also, rumor has it that the legendary Horse Armor is coming back and is part of a special bundle. Yes! Okay, all joking aside, supposedly Oblivion Remastered is shadow dropping on 04/21/25... so if that's true, it's just around the corner.
We'll find out.
In the meantime, let's enjoy the amazing OST of the Elder Scrolls IV, Oblivion!
Until Next Time!
