Funko POP: Thanos (Infinity War)

Updated: Aug 29, 2018

Perfectly Balanced.

Yes, I had to get the POP Infinity War Thanos! There's no denying that #Thanos is one of the highlights of Infinity War and it was expected that #Funko would grace us with a POP of him. Without further adieu, let's go to the rest of the review!

#POP boxes try their best to pay homage to the source material and this box would have missed the mark if it did not try to resemble anything to promote Infinity War. But the box isn't what I purchase POP for! It's the content inside.

I already own the Iron Man and the Hulkbuster and I am definitely interested in getting the Black Order. The others, not so much.

The #MCU's decision to cast off Thanos' well known comic book design to this 'simpler' version is still a mystery to me, however, it was not a terrible decision because the character was done so well that it didn't matter that much. The design wasn't entirely bad either since the costume resembled his comic book appearance enough. Though Thanos without his head piece and those shoulder pads is almost unrecognizable. Almost.

But his face is a mirror of his comic book counter part in the movie. Also, what would Thanos be in an Infinity War based story without the Infinity Gauntlet, which is also done very well in the movie and in his POP form. The pose chosen for Thanos is perfect. He has a maniacal grin and showcasing the infamous gauntlet.

We're all used to the fact that there are no major shadowing or color variation with POPs but they are also well known for clean paint and color choice. The Infinity Stones are all distinguishable, the metallic gold goes well with the dark blue, his boots is a good brown compared to his pants. No complaints at all.

Here is POP Thanos next to his Marvel Legends Thanos. I do like that in the #Marvel_Legends form, the Infinity Gauntlet has a different color than the other gold trimmings of his outfit.

Not much else to say other than I like this POP. There are other versions of his Infinity War form and there are other Thanos POPs from previous MCU movies that I want to get (without being shafted an arm and a leg). But if this is the only version of POP Thanos I own, I'd say it's not a bad deal at all. That's it for now!

Until Next Time!
