A very cute POP from a very peculiar and yet expected POP series! Lilo & Stitch is one of my favorite animated movies from Disney so Stitch is always a welcome character. He is also one of my good friend's favorite so this is always a plus. Do you know what else is a plus? Simba. So Stitch dressed up as Simba might have something going for here. So without further adieu, let's get into the review, shall we?
This series is a gimmicked one and I'm not at all too surprised since characters like Stitch who has all the cute factor can be used to propel or compliment other characters. So this series called 'Stitch in Costume' is all about Stitch dressed up as other popular Disney characters. Definitely not a terrible idea especially if it's done with the right character and Stitch can make it work. Sorry, Olaf, your series was a dud in my book.
That front shot is probably one of the cutest things I have seen from Funko. All you see is Stitch's happy face with a makeshift mane--and a definite homage to Simba and one of his iconic moments. Stitch is obviously on all fours to mimic a lion; the cute drawers reveal he is a lion, right? It has details for stitching and wrinkles. The makeshift manes that are made up of leaves are also well done in terms of sculpting. A good job in this department.
The colors are pretty spot on. Funko has done enough Stitch to know the blues that he needs to make him look accurate. The golden brown boxers to represent Simba are also pretty good. The mane with the two colors of the leaves is perfect. All of these are done with flawless execution.
The box also comes with a background to add to the cuteness.
This is a cute little thing. Definitely not for everyone but for my friend, it's perfect. It's got some good details, good sculpting, and amazing coloring/paint. I recommend it to anyone who loves Stitch and can get into this gimmick. Pretty sure my friend isn't going to go for everyone but I'm sure she'll get more.
Until Next Time!
