I'm so happy to have this POP! I'm on this kick of collecting Spider-Men/Women POPs for the sake of a spiderverse collection and having Spinnernet represent the Maryjane 'Spider-Woman' aspect of the multiverse is something I am happy for! So with that said, let's take a look at Spinnernet as a POP and see how she compares to the others, eh?
Another Spider-Man/Spiderverse POP that is exclusive to Entertainment Earth. And this one is a gift from my good friend! I know! She's a keeper.
I'm not too familiar with this character but I do know that this is Maryjane, married to Peter, and got her own spider-powers thanks to siphoning Peter--I think? Regardless of that, I do like Spinnernet's design. It's got the standard Spider-Man motif with the webbing patterns, the contrasting colors, the spider logos, etc. But Spinnernet also has her spin on her costume. For one, her hair is out--not fully down, but it is out and she's wearing a mask akin to what Robin wears. The sculpting of Spinnernet's red hair--they even managed to make sure the strands coming down by her ear were present. I love the pose too. Spinnernet is doing her version of web-slinging and I'd gladly welcome it especially when it translates well to POP. It's a dynamic enough pose and the figurine's stand allows for an aerial pose. She's unique enough compared to the other Spider-gals in the pose department.
This angle shows a lot of her design. Although the mask is inadequate to hide her identity, does line up with the rest of MJ's design.
Mother and Daughter! Though Spinnernet is not the Mary Jane that gave birth to Spider-Girl here. Funny enough, Spinnernet also has a daughter in her universe named Anna-May Parker, who also becomes a Spider-Girl. Confusing, I know.
Not a full list of Spider-Women, but it does have Jessica Drew so we're all good! We need another Jessica Drew and a Julia Carpenter.
POP: Spider-Women
A reccomend? I'd say it's a good addition. She's got a pretty unique and spider-y pose, her sculpt work is pretty good, and Spinnernet is a footnote in Mary Jane Watson Parker's Marvel tenure. She does look good in my Spiderverse and I'm happy to have her!
Until Next Time!
