Funko POP: Spider-Man (Japanese TV Series/PX)

Another Spider-Man going through the Spiderverse portal! From the Japanese TV show that featured a version of Spider-Man, here we are with a POP of him. I honestly am pretty excited about this. The TV show was one of the few Sentai-related shows I used to watch along with Bioman, Machine Man, and Shaider. With the popularity of the Spiderverse and the theme of pulling different Spider-Men from all angles of Spidey's run, Takuya Yamashiro/Spider-Man was eventually pulled and along with his giant robot, Leopardon, Takuya was an asset in the battle against the Inheritors. Does the POP have that same kind of hit? Let's find out, shall we?

I love this box. Truly. It feels like the classic T.V. Show and I love that image of Spidey. The box art is really good and I can only appreciate the work put behind this.

He is also a bobblehead.

It's another Spider-Man POP that isn't very dynamic. But honestly, I don't mind it since this Spider-Man is posed to pay homage to the source material. The one thing shown well with this pose is the Spider-Bracelet, the source of Spidey's suit and his infinite webbing. The details, for as tiny as it is, are fairly accurate. I do love the sculpted webbing and eyes on Spidey-POPs. I think it adds more depth and care rather than painted-on eyes. Overall, the outfit is almost identical to the original Spider-Man, so there are no complaints here.

Those sculpted details really adds to the entire look of the POP.

That spider symbol is pretty close to the classic.

The colors are great. The red and blue plastic mesh so well together creating a familiar Spider-Man look. No black linings on the web but they are all sculpted in. The eyes are spot on and the Spider-Bracelet looks good. No complaints.

Despite being a "Sentai" version of Spider-Man, this version is pretty close to the original in terms of aesthetics. Of course, being a 'power ranger', he comes with a zord, car, and a lot of Sentai shenanigans, but look at that suit compared to the other two pretty normal Spideys POPs, right?

Here is POP Spider-Man Japan next to two other Sentai characters--better known as Power Rangers. Crazy how Spider-Man got mixed up with the Sentai universe. I love it!

I do love that background. Sometimes POPs come with a neat art background that adds a little something.

Recommend? Actually, yes. I say this one is a must. With great details, a decent pose, and a classic-looking Spider-Man suit, I'd say this fits right in with Spidey collectors.

Until Next Time!
