Funko POP: Spider-Boy

Adding another Spider-Character to my growing Spiderverse display! This time around it's Spider-Boy. And no, not the Amalgam Spider-Boy, but a brand new Spider-Boy reserved for Marvel! He's got a POP now! So let's check it out!

Another SDCC release for 2024! I got this one from Funko.com and as one would guess, it didn't sell out. I doubt anyone is too excited about this new character and his POP.

To the surprise of no one, Spider-Boy is a bobblehead!

I don't know much about Spider-Boy (not even his secret identity) but I do know that this design isn't bad at all and I'm all for it. The pose is what got to me right away. Once again we are treated with another spider-person in a dynamic pose! What's more? This one has that amazing 'flight stand'. Spider-Boy here is doing one of those 'does whatever a spider can' pose and I'm all for it! The sculpting on this piece is pretty standard which means good. I love the way that Funko replicated his comic design into its POP form. Love the sculpt work on his eyes and backpack. The shoes are also something to like since they look so organic and have some nice style put into them. All in all, this area of the POP hits all the right marks.

I love this shot of the POP. Because of the way this POP is posed, the profile gives more view of the details of the work put into this character! Again, not the best design but not a loss in the costume design department.

The colors are pretty similar to Spider-Boy's comic book counterpart. I love that vibrant blue right next to an equally bright red. The coloring of the eyes and the outlines are nearly flawless! I love the coloring on the shoes too! They nailed it!

I love this angle!

Next to the other Spider-Girls and a Spider-Man! With that pose and that well-done paint job, I'd see this is another win for my Spider-verse collection.

I'm not going to sit here and say that this POP made me want to start checking out Spider-Boy in the comics. I will say this, I think he has a pretty nice design and this POP is quite nice. A must? For Spiderverse collectors, possibly. I wanted him and I'm pleased! It has some good things going on for sure! I can recommend it since it's a well-done POP and the character does look like he's got some good taste when it comes to his tights! Other than that... maybe an Amalgam Spider-Boy one day?

Until Next Time!
