Coming from the Spider-Man 2 wave, we have Maryjane Watson as Scream! I loved how Scream looked in the game and hoped a POP would happen. Here we are! Let's take a look at her, shall we?
This was a decent wave! I have three out of the four, so I was mostly satisfied. The only one from this set that was a pass was Black Suit, Harry Osborn. Just didn't click with me, honestly.
Scream was the standout female symbiote from The Five Symbiotes team. Agony never really got her shine but Scream, with her loud colors and tentacle-like hair, got to remain in the spotlight (relatively) while the others just went off the deep end. So glad she did which is how we got here with Scream. The gameverse's version of Scream had a completely different host, and some of her designs are a bit more monster-like and feral than her comic book counterpart. The pose they gave her really does compliment the bestial nature of Scream for this game. Her symbiote isn't smooth, they're rugged, spikes protruding, and it looks messy. The sculpting for this POP does her gamer counterpart justice! The face and the hair are the highlight. As with most/all Symbiote characters, the tongue and the teeth are going to be glaring at you!
Yeah, that face is awesome! Scream is very alluring for a monstrous symbiote creature and it's all thanks to that face, the hair, and that swagger. Love the sculpt of her eyes, her tongue, and those dentist-friendly teeth!
Yeah, you don't see much (or at all) but hair from this angle. But you can note how much sculpting there is with Scream's hair--that Maryjane locks, right? All joking aside, the colors on Scream are pretty spot on. I love the reds peaking out of her dominantly yellow body color, the not-so-pristine white teeth, the eyes, and the streaks of yellow going through her hair, it's pretty good. The color choices also translate well from the game to plastic form.
Next to her comic book counterpart, POP Scream from the game has a more horror-esque feel to her. The Walgreens exclusive of POP Scream is pretty comic-book accurate (though more red would've done her some good). I do like both of them next to each other. They look great.
These two look good next to each other. I do wish that they had more screen time together, but alas, they did not. But as a POP, they pair well together and can stand together; the odd what-if-gamerverse version of Scream as Maryjane and Venom as Harry Osborn.
POP: Venomverse
POP Scream from Spider-Man 2 looks good. She's posed well, sculpted, and painted well, and the accuracy is more than good enough. A must? Symbiote fans will have a fun time with her. She's very different from her comic book counterpart so it's not a complete rebuy of the same character. Even if the game wasn't stellar and Scream's part was only a good boss fight, all in all, the POP is awesome. I recommend!
Until Next Time!
