A Wolverine POP in celebration of Logan's 50 Years! This time around, we got ourselves Old Man Logan from the popular miniseries about a what-if scenario. Old Man Logan really hit gold for a moment and this version of Wolverine grew traction. Only fitting he would get a POP.
This series should be familiar since I did get the POP: Wolverine 1371.
An older and very exhausted Wolverine means he becomes a cowboy. Seriously, that story was pretty good back then. It was simple and makes you scratch your head, but it was all good. He came to the regular 616 Universe once, which was a mess. This outfit, more or less, symbolizes his run with the main Universe. I like how the details are there for his worn and torn outfit. The leather scuffs are present all over his hat, his trenchcoat, and his shoes. The claws look good and that pose, though very neutral, does offer a lot since this Logan is very somber but still a well-groomed killer if he has to be. I do like how the trenchcoat is 'moving' with the wind, giving it a flared-out look and more depth to this non-action posed Wolverine. I love it.
I love the coloring done with this POP. It's especially good with the jacket. Funko was able to give the illusion that it's a worn-out leather hat and jacket, with tears and scuffs. The dark red shirt and the black jeans are also an amazing compliment to the entire ensemble, completed by a prominent silver buckle and shoes. I love the silver on his claws too, stands out. The facial hair looks a bit off in terms of color, but it works just fine. The additional paint on his face to imply 'age' works out just fine as well.
Here is POP Old Man Logan next to POP Days of the Future Past Logan. Yeah, DOTP Logan was the original Old Man Logan, just not in the same aspect. Oh yes, the Multiverse and bleak futures the X-Men/Marvel Universe tends to create!
Not a bad POP. It's got a lot of good things with the detailing of the sculpting and the color choices. Not a very aggressive posed Wolverine, but he doesn't have to be. I do think this is a good milestone in Wolverine's timeline. Maybe I should get Weapon X one day, eh?
Until Next Time!
