Well, this POP is something different. Definitely not a series that I've touched base on within my blog, that's for sure! But I have watched the entire season of Chainsawman and I will say that Makima is an interesting character.
This series is quite awesome! It's quite bloody and at times gratuitous but, hey, they don't make any claims to be anything else. There might be a deeper story if one sticks around but other than that, waiting for Season 2! Keep the POPs coming though!
The characters in Chainsawman are mostly in casual outfits--suits and ties. In Makima's case, she's mostly seen in a white button-up, slacks, loafers, and a tie. She's a very simple gal. But make no mistake--Makima is a powerhouse and she knows it. And how does she translate as a POP? Simple and genius. There's not much to say about her design but how Funko brought it over to plastic is fine. The pose isn't very dynamic either but it is something Makima would be in. The small details in her hair, the wrinkles in her clothing, it's all done well and there's nothing for me to complain about.
Makima's color palette is quite simple until we get to her hair which is a pale auburn, which Funko got right. There are some imperfections with the lining from her hair to her skin but it's not a big deal unless one really looks at it. I love her eyes--POP eyes usually stay black but they gave Makima her signature yellow eyes. I love the organic coloring of her slacks and shoes as one can see the difference between the dark brown and black. All in all, despite the small defects, the coloring department is just fine as is.
And yes, that pose is something else, eh?
Here is Makima next to the Chainsawman himself and Power. I know, this wave is looking good, ain't it?
POP Chainsaw Man
Makima is a good POP. A simple POP, but it does what it needs to. It represents the anime character and it's got enough good details to make it a worthwhile buy. Fans of the anime and POP collectors have something to enjoy with this one. Let's see how her counterparts are, right?
Until Next Time!
