Oh, this is an adorable one! This is, more or less, a Deluxe POP of Big Hero 6's Baymax. Far from the battle-ready superhero, Baymax has a very in-character pose. Let's take a look at this POP, shall we?
The box is unique due to the way this POP is posed. It's horizontal rather than the usual vertical POP. Makes sense and I've seen this a couple of times before.
Baymax's design is meant to catch attention in an adorable and cutesy way. When not armored up, Baymax does not have a lot going on so most merchandise of him really won't be admired for intricate details and his POP isn't any different. All the things one needs to recognize Baymax are all present--funny enough, the POP stylized proportion fits Baymax cute and huggable look. His pose is fairly simple and it's perfect for him! He is relaxed and enjoying life, and that's all we want for him and Mochi!
As I mentioned, the designs are all present, for example, he has his memory drive present; which I wouldn't be able to explain if Funko missed that.
The colors and the paint execution do this POP many justices! I love this metallic gloss over the figure which gives Baymax a shine that makes him stand out. The grey spots and the black eyes are a perfect contrast to the pearl-white paint job of this huggable healthcare companion!
Mochi's another addition that is a small but good contrast to Baymax. He's sculpted well, looks like a chunky cat and the colors are accurate. He's also got that cute expression!
Not a one-for-one comparison, but here is POP Baymax with Mochi next to POP Mickey Mouse.
My friend loves this POP! It was a gift for her and it was a success! She loves it! Recommend? Yes. Accurately detailed, and colored quite nice, and that display is so unique and cute. A good Funko exclusive!
