Ame-Comi: Huntress

Another oldie from the garage! Ame-Comi Huntress is joining the fray to see where she stands when it comes to PVC statues (figurines) standards. She's got some good things going on so let's check her out, shall we?

Just from the box, Huntress kept her dark purple scheme. That Black Canary looks pretty sick, but I don't have her. The chances of getting her are probably 1%.

Regarding Huntress' costume design, I like it. It's got a lot of her original elements present and they didn't deviate too much from the familiar Huntress. The changes they make I like, for example: that cape/jacket is a great idea! I do like the armor Helena has on, and the many different straps, holsters, and areas to store her gadgets. For her PVC statue, there's a lot of sculpting, and detailing, and it all looks great for what it is. I am honestly impressed with how much detail they put into this gal.

The pose's main purpose is for us to appreciate Helena's new outfit. It's not too dynamic, but with that sassy walk, it lets us see all of the armor on her boots, the weapons on her holsters, her right hand pushing her cloak back, allow for a good Batman-esque flowing cape. Love how Huntress' hair also moves with her cape.

The colors are pretty good on this thing! I love the choices of dark purple, black, blue, and the subtle hints of gold. It's a good combo of colors, and it does represent Huntress's color schemes. The paint execution is well done, so there's no real complaint from my end in regards. And while it suffers from the same 'issues' I had with these older Ame-Comi figures in terms of face painting, I'm not going to hold it too much against it.

The sculpture of the Huntress's design is complemented by the paint execution.

All of her gadgets, her straps, all given a proper paint and/or plastic coloring to better match Helena's color scheme.

Again, gotta love that sculpting of her cape/jacket.

And while Ame-Comi Huntress's design doesn't veer too far from the original material, I'm surprised they didn't go with the belly and booty shorts. I'm sure that wouldn't have harmed the Ame-Comi look too much.

Again, those eyes and that face in general could use some help

In conclusion, much like the other Ame-Comis, its age shows. I'd say that because of what it was, it's a good figurine. I wouldn't say Ame-Comi Huntress is a must, but I can say that she has some noteworthy things for something that is a decade or so old. Not my favorite Huntress outfit, but the figure is done well! I'd say it's not bad to have in my collection. I like her enough.
